UK-based M&H Plastics hopes its latest investment in a new injection blow moulding machine from Uniloy Milacron will help it expand in the market for pharma packaging.
M&H says it will use the machine to manufacture a 50ml Round with 28mm neck and a 50ml Roll-on pack for a specific customer. The company already makes packaging such as vitamin jars for the pharma sector.
“Injection blow moulding is a brand new process for M&H and bridges the gap between blow moulding and injection stretch blow moulding, providing scrap-free production of containers with an injection moulded finish,” says the firm.
Advantages of the process include good control of part tolerances, no waste and a low risk of contamination, adds M&H.
M&H is a major supplier of plastic bottles and other containers to the personal care market. It claims to have Europe’s largest range of standard rigid plastic packaging in the personal care sector, consisting of approximately 900 products.
The company’s main manufacturing site is in Beccles, Suffolk, where it employs about 500 people in a 450,000 sq foot facility. It has another facility in Winchester, Virginia, in the US, which serves the US personal care market.
